26th Annual American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Scientific Session

Dallas, Texas was the site of the 26th annual American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Scientific Session, where dentists from all over the world converge to share their knowledge in the field of cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
This was Dr. Blanco's 12th year attending the Scientific Session. Amongst the highlight lectures he attended was Dr. Lorenzo Vanini's Conservative Repair of Front Teeth Using Composite Resin (bonding). Dr. Vanini (pictured here with Dr. Blanco) is an internationally recognized master of bonding. He teaches and practices in Cuomo, Italy.
Another fascinating course that Dr. Blanco attended was Dr. Bob Khanna's Facial Aesthetics and the use of Botox and Restylane. Dr. Khanna was the first dentist in the world to introduce Botox and Restylane to the dental practice. He is best know for developing Botox techniques to alleviate TMJ muscle hypertrophy. Dr. Khanna teaches and practices in Manchester, England.

Dr. Blanco Serves as Examiner

Dr. Blanco recently traveled to Madison, Wisconsin ( home of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry) to serve as an examiner in the Accreditation process. Reaching Accredited status involves passing a rigorous examination that demonstrates enhanced skills in cosmetic dentistry.

The examination process consists of a written, clinical and oral section. The clinical cases are carefully reviewed by examiners who use over 80 criteria to judge the level of proficiency in cosmetic dentistry. Examiners work two long days reviewing clinical cases submitted by the dentist candidates.

Dr. Blanco received his Accreditation in 2007 and was asked to serve as an examiner shortly after.
